What does FYNX do?
At FYNX Performance Psychology, I support athletes, coaches, teams and professionals across performance environments to maximise their potential and become the performer and person they aspire to be.
My approach is collaborative, evidence-informed and tailored to your individual context. Together, I aim to help you gain clarity on what matters most, identify meaningful performance and development goals, and build the psychological skills needed to consistently take action towards them.
I offer a range of services, including one-to-one consultancy, team workshops, coach and staff development (CPD), and embedded performance psychology support within organisations.
Read more about me (Frazer Young), including my background and philosophy of practice below.
For me, performance psychology is all about working collaboratively to move you closer to being the person that you want to be.
I firmly believe that you already hold the necessary tools to make great progress within you. I intend to help you find and refine these.
My style of delivery is personable and supportive to reflect this. The intention being to create a space where you can be open and honest, to support meaningful progress.
I firmly believe that the key ingredient for success, is a warm and caring professional relationship.
This does not mean that I will not challenge you at times. Challenge can be essential for driving meaningful progress. You are more than welcome to do the same with me!
I graduated from Loughborough University with a bachelor’s degree in Sport and Exercise Science in 2021 and a master’s degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology in 2022. Following this, I completed a conversion course in Psychology with the Open University and spent 3 years working at Burnley FC across the women’s team and academy. At Burnley, I was involved in the academy’s promotion to category 1 status, and the women’s team’s undefeated FAWNL North Division One championship in 2026.

“I have personally progressed significantly in my wellbeing and performances, which I believe is heavily due to the work myself and Frazer have been doing. I now feel more level-headed when I am playing and present throughout my performances.”

“I would highly recommend working with (Frazer). Throughout our sessions, I always felt genuinely listened to and supported, which gave me the confidence to develop at my own pace. (Frazer’s) approach helped me see challenges from a different perspective, and the work we did together has not only improved my performance but also helped me grow as a person.”

I have worked and supervised Frazer for over 2 years. Firstly in his role as ‘player care’ with Burnley FC. Academy, and more latterly in his Sports Psychology role, supporting the promotion winning women’s team at Burnley FC. During his time with the women’s team, he had responsibilities for performance, wellbeing, safeguarding, teaching and audits.
Frazer is an intelligent, intuitive and gifted young psychologist. He operates using a holistic and team-centred philosophy, being able to apply his skills both at the level of the individual (players, coaches, support staff) and also for the broader needs of the team.
I have worked with him with athletes needing support for a range of issues, including: low confidence, anger dysregulation, mental health difficulties, ADHD, and problems related to injuries. I have been impressed by his technical skills, but also by his empathy.

"I had the pleasure of working with Frazer in a professional capacity, and his contributions were transformative for the team. As the Head of Women’s Football, I witnessed firsthand how Frazer introduced innovative psychological frameworks that greatly improved both player performance and team dynamics. Frazer’s thoughtful and personable approach made it easy for players and staff to engage with the practices he implemented. This led to a comprehensive transformation of the psychological support within the Women’s Team department. I would highly recommend Frazer to anyone looking to enhance their team’s or personal mental performance and wellbeing."
