I am based in Loughborough, but regularly travel to London.
I am happy to meet in person or work online.
If we meet in person, we will identify an appropriate location and time to meet. My preference is that the client determines the location so that they can ensure it is one they are comfortable with.
If we meet online, this will be via Zoom or MS Teams.

Yes! Sport and performance psychology can be really powerful for supporting long term personal and sporting development.
However, there are additional considerations.
Parental permission must be granted (signed agreement). Parents will also be aware of when and where all sessions are taking place.
I hold an enhanced DBS check, I am a Designated Safeguarding Officer (DSO) through the English Football League and have previously worked within Academy football with young people aged 9-18.

Absolutely!
Parents are the most critical influence on their children and performance psychology can help them reflect on how they can best support their child in sport or other performance domains.

Exact structures can vary greatly, but a rough overview would be…
Brief introduction/catch up about how things have been since the last session.
Exploration of any key issues raised or expanding on any key reflections.
Identification of key session aims (what would you like to work on in this session/what are we looking to achieve today).
Discussions working towards this aim.
Identification of any skills or techniques that can be applied/tried before our next session.

Series are flexible depending on the nature of the goals.
However, an example would be…
Session 1 and 2: Intake and introduction. Outlining ethical factors and gathering informed consent. Identifying goals for the relationship. Starting to understand one another. Exploring the main area of interest.
Generally, you (the client) will do a lot of speaking through your present reality and where you would like to go. My role is to listen and be curious, seeking to understand you better in order to truly help and support.
Session 3: If we have progressed to this point by this stage, we will identify clearly your needs and goals.
Unclear goals can make our work very challenging and lead to confusion. Too many goals can mean nothing gets addressed. Goals that do not accurately reflect your needs can lead to frustration. So clear goals are vital.
Generally, goals are framed in terms of behaviours, that way they are observable. Subjective experience is important too, but this is more challenging to observe and can be more prone to acute fluctuations.
Sessions 4, 5, 6 and onwards: Working on your goals and collaborating on moving you in the direction you want to go. This will mean developing skills and techniques, altering behaviours and forming habits.
At this stage, commitment is important as change does not happen without action. Often, that action can be challenging and maybe even uncomfortable. I will be here for as long as you need me to be and will offer a space for you to understand your experiences, work through barriers, identify solutions and provide reflections and evidence informed insights.
This process may repeat throughout our work, it is rarely linear.
The goal? Work together to move you closer to being the person that you want to be.
